This is a Tamiya 1/48 Scale P-51K Mustang depicted as a Royal Australian Air Force machine in the great looking shark-mouthed livery of 76 Sqn, Iwakuni Japan circa 1947...

It was painted with a combination of Gunze & Tamiya acrylics and the amazing Alclad II series of paints in a variety of metallic shades, and armed with 6 x 5inch HVAR rockets and a pair of 500lb bombs for a ground support sortie

Decals are the Hawkeye "P-51 Mustang RAAF Post WWII" set #N-48051

These settled very nicely with careful application of Gunze decal softener - and following a shot of semi gloss, they look like they're painted on :-)

The Tamiya Mustang is one of the most carefully engineered kits that I have ever built - and I'd love to make one of these in 1/32... Plus, silver RAAF P-51's are simply gorgeous (IMHO!) :-D

Happy modelling from Australia!
