This latest release from Aires features a complete resin and photo etch P-47 Thunderbolt wing gun bays for the Tamiya kit.  This set includes 8 machine guns with barrels and gun bays for right and left wings plus the bays with covers next to the gun bays.

The quality of the resin casting is flawless and bubble free.  The gun barrels have cooling jacket indentations along the outside of the barrels.  You get the option to pose the covers on the actual guns in the open or close position.  The gun bay access panel covers are well detailed with detail on both sides.  The gun bays themselves had plenty of detail to help compete the look.  You also get the wing bay next to the gun bay and this wing bay has a cover and shows off all the wing ribbing detail.

The instructions are easy to follow line drawings.

You will be required to fold the photoetch in this set, but if you have one of the Hold & Fold photo etch benders from The Small Shop, then this will be an easy process.  They have a variety of benders for sharp corners as well as rounded corners and in many different sizes.

Open gun access panels with full detail inside the gun bays always does wonders for increasing the detail level and appeal on your model and these gun bays are a great option to use of your next P-47.
